Children’s Clothes: Additions To Sons Closet

Came home with two additions to sons closet. The jacket was a perfect fit so his father went back for one size larger because he would have grown out of it in no time at all. They grow out of clothes really fast; next spring it won’t fit him.

Movie Review: Immortals (2011)

Warning, this post contains spoilers.

Immortals movie poster

Immortals movie poster

So, the boyfriend and myself have watched the 2011 fantasy movie Immortals (IMDb link) and our opinions about it couldn’t differ more. I am guessing the opinion of a man who’s much interested of -and have good knowledge in- history, war and fighting is not shared by a woman who’s though interests are there the knowledge is not as advanced. ūüôā

He doesn’t think that the fighting scenes are realistically made and I can agree on that but I still thought they were awesome. They are not suppose to be realistic!

And¬†here’s a few reasons¬†why I like the movie:

  • It is never boring; It isn’t predictable, I am pleasantly surprised throughout the entire movie.
  • The sound effects are awesome. I’m impressed.
  • The scenery is magnificent.
  • Imaginative elements: The hyena, the sisters of the Oracle inside the bull, more.
  • The automatically appearing arrow when the bow arches.
  • The wardrobe, the masks.
  • Loving the decorations that were used in the surroundings, despite some of them not being from that time.

Theseus is a mortal man chosen by Zeus to lead the fight against the ruthless King Hyperion, who is on a rampage across Greece to obtain a weapon that can destroy humanity.

The computer generated world where the story of Theseus unfold are some beautiful settings. The characters are from the Greek mythology but the story is not based on any actual known myth. You will not learn accurate mythology from this movie. There is plenty of violence, blood and special effects in this action filled entertaining and beautiful movie. Mickey Rourke played his interpretation of the character King Hyperion so well.

If you love your Greek mythology and dislike unreal fighting you are probably going to be disappointed. It is an action filled fantasy movie, if you can appreciate that you might like it as I do. I rate it 4 stars out of 5 possible.

I apologize that the stills are of bad quality, afraid I don’t have any program better suitable for captions other than VLC movie player and Windows Paint.

Time For New Joggers !

Been searching new joggers the past days. A pair with black base and preferably red streaks. But not necessarily.

Am I willing to spend $200 plus on joggers? Let’s figure that out; If I am lucky I get to exercise¬†3 times per week and I usually make that a 2¬Ĺ hour power walk/jog/some running as good as every time. Now ones the winter is gone and spring has arrived, I keep myself indoors as much as possible when it’s cold. Hate cold! I also wear joggers when me and son go to play outside – that’s soccer, climbing, hoops, playgrounds, etc. On days when I know I will be up on my feet much I usually go for the comfortable look and that often includes joggers. I wear out shoes pretty fast.

I’m not a millionaire just because I don’t live on the streets and I have a child to support. I’m not that parent who put the money on myself and let my children live poor; it’s rather I who voluntarily draw the shortest straw.

I am going to keep it below 100 dollars. I will be busy the coming days, so I won’t be able to search new joggers until Saturday if I’m lucky.

Below are some examples most within the price range found online of what I could consider getting for myself.

Five Trailers Which Makes Me Want To Watch The Movie

Trailers can be treacherous; I have learned that they intentiously will mislead you. One perfect example of this is the 2011 official¬†Bad Teacher¬†trailer with over eight million views on YouTube starring Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake. I usually stay clear or “comedies” because I rarely find them to be comedic but I expected a somewhat good one this time because the promising appearance of the trailer.¬†A trailer needs to not be better than the movie, note to you trailer makers out there.

I haven’t yet seen these movies but the trailers do make me want to. Am I going to get disappointed?

Adding Sugar To Fruit Doesn’t Make Sense

The reason I eat fruit is naturally for the health benefits of it, so why would I want to add sugar? The bags of dried fruit I can find in the regular stores are all sweetened. It makes no sense.

While placing an order for Maca and Mesquite powder I included a bag of dried banana chips which contains nothing but banana. I need to venture the town and see if I can find unsweetened dried fruit in any of the smaller private owned stores.

Learn One New Word Each Day: Chastise

About a month ago I posted an entry titled Learn 1 New Word Each Day. English is not my native language, this is a way to expand my vocabulary.

[chas-tahyz, chas-tahyz]

verb (used with object), -tised, -tis·ing.

  1. to discipline, especially by corporal punishment.
  2. to criticize severely.
  3. Archaic . to restrain; chasten.
  4. Archaic . to refine; purify.

1.  punish, castigate; whip, beat, flog, spank.

Example Sentences

  • In¬†the¬†end,¬†the¬†other¬†brother¬†and¬†sister¬†are¬†morally¬†chastised¬†for¬†their love.
  • Nelson¬†chastised¬†faculty¬†members¬†who¬†refuse¬†to¬†acknowledge¬†that¬†the nation’s¬†higher-education¬†system¬†is¬†broken.
  • Taleb¬†chastised¬†finance¬†for¬†relying¬†too¬†heavily¬†on¬†the¬†normal¬†distribution, but¬†that¬†is¬†only¬†part¬†of¬†the¬†problem.

All information comes from

My Conclusion: As far as I gather Chastise is to¬†physically punish. What I don’t understand is how a non-physical thing can be chastised, referring to the 3rd example sentence; “chastised finance”.
